A year of collective intelligence
We continue weaving networks, imagining futures, and designing from the collective
Although Cívica was formalized at the end of 2023, it was not until 2024 that we decided to celebrate this idea with friends, allies, partners, and counterparts, because we believe in the collective as the most effective path for any transformation.
This is why we have decided that our official anniversary will be every June 28th, and to celebrate our first year, we want to share with you a brief recount of what this journey has been like, who we have collaborated with, and what we have learned.
With only 12 months of active work, we have accompanied 17 organizations at the global, regional, and national levels from the public, private, and civil society sectors in processes of various kinds:
Research and analysis for the design of strategies or advocacy processes aimed at creating or improving regulations on environmental matters and the recognition of women's human rights.
Design and facilitation of high-level regional dialogue processes to generate agreements on care work and violence against women.
Specialized advisory services on financial sustainability for community funds and foundations.
Construction of strategic and financial sustainability plans for civil society organizations, community funds, and foundations.
Capacity building in the use of agile methodologies for solution design.
Conducting monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement processes.
At Cívica, it is not just about technical support, but about our way of working. In one year, we have reaffirmed that dialogue, attention to detail, adaptation, and flexibility to the realities and needs of each counterpart are fundamental to creating, implementing, and above all, sustaining solutions.
In contexts where fear and rejection of what is different are intensifying, the main learning of this year is that collective intelligence is more necessary than ever. It has allowed us to explore solutions to complex bottlenecks, rethink decision-making models, reconnect with the essential, and design new possible futures. All of this has been possible by applying methodologies and processes from civic design, which places people at the center of every process we have carried out.
But Cívica is not just the process or specialized support, it is its people, an extraordinary team where different knowledges and experiences converge, put at the service of those who trust in our work. To the team and to our counterparts in this first year 🙌 THANK YOU! 🙌
And now, what's next?
We want to continue strengthening our steps towards a direct contribution to the democracies of the future, so that they are more open and participatory, which is why we are on our way to consolidating civic initiatives such as monitoring the work of authorities in local governments or dynamizing community innovation ecosystems.
