Cívica: A new social enterprise to transform our democracies
Launch of Cívica, a consulting firm
A few weeks ago we launched Cívica, our new social enterprise aimed at transforming our democracies and realities through dialogue, collaboration, and civic design. We were joined by more than one hundred allies, friends, and advisors from different countries, territories, and sectors.
Thus, we materialized a dream conceived out of the need to create a space where diverse actors from civil society, governments, academia, and the private sector converge to allow us to design disruptive and innovative solutions to public and citizen needs.
What is our commitment?
We believe in generating evidence for decision-making, but even more importantly, in doing so collaboratively with those people who will be impacted by these decisions. Therefore, our first major commitment is to facilitate collaborative research processes that recognize all types of knowledge in building digital, political, and socio-environmental solutions.
We are drawn together by the possibility of iterating and prototyping democratic and egalitarian futures, which is why our second major commitment is civic laboratories as spaces for experimentation and creation where we allow ourselves to innovate and design solutions from diverse and even opposing perspectives.
But, without a doubt, the heart of Cívica is civic design. This approach integrates innovative methodologies from the digital environment into problem-solving, using tools that ensure people are at the center of each of the processes, recognizing their diversities and contexts.
How do we work?
We design analog and digital processes tailored to our counterparts, taking into account their contexts, resources, and objectives, blending playful spaces and reflection to create and implement disruptive, innovative, and sustainable solutions.
We support governments, organizations, and businesses in designing collaborative processes for the creation and execution of public policies, advocacy strategies, and sustainability.
We facilitate civic dialogues that allow diverse actors to meet, recognize one another, and generate the necessary agreements to build collaborative solutions and promote collective well-being.
Cívica thus positions itself as a disruptive platform in times of polarization, to rethink our democracies with a future-oriented key and an inescapable approach that places people at the heart of every initiative.
